Join us as our Oenpelli team report on their recent trip to Arnhem Land.
The purpose of the trip was to help the locals with church building maintenance and to run a school holidays kids program. This work was done through Joy Sanderfur (BCA).

St. Mark’s Anglican Church Forest Hill presents.. 

A seven week course designed to build strong relationships in marriage, a series of romantic ‘dates’ over coffee and dessert where issues are raised and then discussed privately by couples. The course is designed to strengthen good marriages and can also help those who are struggling. Developed in the UK it has been run all around the world. 

The course covers life skills such as building strong foundations, the art of communication, resolving conflict, the power of forgiveness, parents and in-laws, good sex and love in action. The course has a Christian basis but does not assume Christian belief. 


Cost: $100 per couple, covers the cost of desserts and materials. The course itself is free. 

When: each Wednesday from the 21th of July for seven weeks. Evenings run from 7.45pm and finish by 9.45pm. 

Where: St. Mark’s Forest Hill, 303 Canterbury Rd Forest Hill.

It is most probably true that we make a lot of Christmas Day because deep down it means a lot to families. Oh I know some people avoid it: like the guy I heard trying to book up a game of golf on it. And some people don't enjoy it: like the family that love getting together then fight all day. 

You can celebrate it in all sorts of ways. The English (they’re mad) think a lot of us celebrate it on beaches. Better than in the dark of an English winter. Anyway I don’t like sandwiches that much. 

Our best way of celebrating it at St.Marks in some way comes before the event when we have our magnificent Carols and focus on one aspect of Christmas. 

This year we do that Sunday December 20th at 7.30pm and focus on “A breathtaking moment” Now the miracle of birth is a breathtaking moment, but why was this birth two thousand years ago which we recall a breathtaking moment in more than one sense? 

If you are one day old or even one hundred years old you are welcome to our Carols Celebration. There are no bookings however come a little early to pick a spot you like. Bring your friends. The supper is on us.

Two ways you can help someone else this Christmas  

1. Bring a suitable wrapped gift for a child, marked for a certain age and gender, and place it under our tree until December 13th, when the gifts will go to Anglicare’s network for children who may not otherwise receive a gift

2. Pick up a TEAR envelope at any service between December 6th and 27th and give to support the women of underdeveloped countries who are themselves suffering discrimination. We are trying to hit a target of $1000 to enable 5 support groups to begin!

You usually enter a Grand Opening through doors. This time the Grand Opening are the doors –some 14 of the things. Why would we install so many new doors? Well come to St.Mark’s Forest Hill and find out why!

8am or 10am will do, we are not fussy. But you might be –so if you like quiet services come at 8am and if you like more action come at 10am!

You will be welcomed at whichever meeting and door you choose! The coffee is on us.

So is the talk which will look at the 2010 Vision for the people of the congregations and see ahead to what God might do.
